Back to Safepark Program Table of Contents The SafePark Program Pressure wash and scrub equipment with antibacterial cleaner. This not only sanitizes the surfaces for your child's safe heath, it also cleans and brightens all plastic and metal components. We also remove all gum and stickers. All sand and debris are cleaned from all joints, corners and edges to expose possible hidden hazards and/or maintenance needs. (Recommend quarterly service) Pressure wash and scrub rubber safety surfaces with antibacterial cleaner to remove embedded dirt, sand, tree sap, bird droppings, food, gum, soft drinks and foreign substances. This not only cleans the rubber it helps to expose potential problems that can be corrected before they become costly repairs or dangerous hazards. (Recommend quarterly service) Seal rubber safety surface with a clear urethane top coat. This process will not only revitalize and brighten the rubber; it will extend the life of the rubber by protecting against damaging ultra-violet rays and reducing the amount of rubber granules that are worn off by normal use. (Recommend annual service) Perform a comprehensive safety audit or inspection. This will be performed by a Certified Playground Safety Inspector. We will use a metal detector to inspect your loose fill (sand and/or wood chips) for dangerous metal debris while visually inspecting for glass and other foreign objects. Dig test holes in various locations to check for the proper depth of loose fill. We will also fill in “kick-outs” under swings and slide exits. Inspect the overall condition of all play equipment and components while identifying potential hazards and maintenance needs. All loose hardware will be tightened and all moving parts will be lubricated. (Recommend monthly service) Prepare a detailed inspection report which will include an easy to understand inspection summary, with digital pictures and recommendations for addressing the hazards and maintenance needs that are identified during our inspection. We will meet with staff on-site to review the inspection report. Also based on our findings we will recommend a SafePark periodic safety inspection schedule that will not only help to keep children safe but will also be an invaluable tool for defending potential litigation. It is important to know that children will get injured on the playground. They will get bumps, bruises, scrapes, cuts, and even broken bones. But, if you maintain a safe playground in safe condition, you will be able to help prevent permanently disabling injuries and death and our children will flourish. |
